چکیده

Different feeding techniques of microstrip patch antennas with different spiral defected ground structures are presented in this paper. The investigated structures illustrate some merits in designing multi-electromagnetic band-gap structures by adjusting the capacitance and changing the inductance through varying the width and length of spiral defected ground structure. Then by applying the three different spirals shapes (one, two and four arms) as the ground plane of microstrip patch antenna with different feeding techniques to create multi or ultra wide-band, improve the antenna gain and reduce the antenna size, it is found that the four arms spiral defected ground structure of microstrip patch antenna with offset feed gives good performance, electrical size reduction to about 75% as compared to the original patch size and ultra-wide bandwidth extends from 2 GHz up to 12 GHz with −8 dB impedance bandwidth.

Design and Miniaturization of a Novel Fractal Microstrip Antenna for UWB Applications

A novel printed octagonal fractal microstrip antenna with semi-elliptical ground plane is presented for ultra wide band applications. The proposed antenna has a compact size of 20×20×1 mm³. The measured result of the antenna exhibits the ultra wide band characteristics from 2/9 to 14/2 GHz. In this paper, reducing antenna’s size by 35%, the same results were achieved, while small dimension frac...

ساخت آنتن‌های میکرواستریپ بر بستر منسوج به وسیله چاپ جوهر افشان

Today, along with the advances in circuit printing technology it has become possible to fabricate band lines integrated with circuit elements. The band lines are known as microstrip lines and the whole packages are called microstrip antennas. The microstrip antennas have three layers, including conductive patch layer, dielectric sub layer, and ground conductive layer. One of the most important ...

Multi Attribute Analysis of a Novel Compact UWB Antenna with Via-fed Elements for Dual Band Notch Function (RESEARCH NOTE)

A compact microstrip-fed antenna with dual notched bands is proposed. First, a simple basic configuration is presented for Ultra Wide Band (UWB) applications and then the dual band notched structure is extended from the UWB one. The basic structure of the UWB antenna consists of a simple square radiating patch and a ground plane with a wide square slot on back of the substrate. A semi-circle sh...

Two New Loaded Compact Planar Ultra-wideband Antennas Using Defected Ground Structures

In this paper, two new line-fed loaded planar antennas are proposed for ultra-wideband applications. The first antenna is a circular patch with a circular ring as a Defected Ground Structure (DGS). A 50 Ohm microstrip line passes through the antenna which is symmetrical between the feed and the load. The impedance bandwidth of the first antenna with S11 < −10 dB is more than 10 GHz, from 3 GHz ...
